Air cooler uses ambient air as cooling medium, which skims over finned tubes to cool down or condense high temperature process fluid in the tube. The device is also referred to as "air cooling unit" or "air cooling heat exchanger". Air cooler is also referred to as finned fan, which is often used to substitute water cooling shell-tube heat exchanger.
